Kathryn Elizabeth Van Curen

Kathryn Elizabeth Van Curen (nee Mueninghoff), 86, of Ryland Heights, KY, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 22, 2024 at The Seasons of Alexandria, surrounded by her loving family.

Kathy was a longtime member of Ryland Lakes Country Club. For years she volunteered at Children’s Hospital sewing clowns for children.  She had a great sense of humor and loved to sing and dance. She will be most remembered for her generosity and love for her family, friends and any child she ever met.

Kathy was also preceded in death by her mother, Olivia F. O’Brien; her grandson, Christopher Stevenson; and her son-in-law, Christopher Schwarz, Sr.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Peter Van Curen, Sr.; her sister, Patty O’Brien Huebener; her children, Beth (Chris Sr.) Schwarz, Pete (Julie) Van Curen Jr., Julie (fiancé-Greg Matzinger) Stevenson, Susie (Jeff) Giesting, and Jim (Sandy) Van Curen.

Kathy was blessed with 15 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson who brought great joy to her life.

A memorial visitation for Kathy will be on Friday, April 5, 2024 from 10:00AM-11:00AM at St. Patrick Church and Shrine in Taylor Mill, KY. Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 11:00AM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Alzheimer’s Association Greater Cincinnati Chapter.
