Yvonne Barkie

EDGEWOOD – Yvonne K. Barkie, 71, passed away August 20, 2012 at her residence in Edgewood. She was a writer, business women, teacher, confidante, counselor, and optimist. She was an office manager and comptroller at the H. Dennert Dist. Corp. for over 20 years until leukemia forced her to retire. Yvonne is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Joseph C. Barkie of Edgewood, KY. Her son Charles Barkie (Barbie) of Cumming, GA, daughter Leslie Church (Tony) of Chapin, SC, son William Barkie (Deanna) of Edgewood, KY, sister Lola Taylor (Gary) of Lancaster, OH, brother Howard Matlack (Sharon) of Stewart, OH, grandchildren Ryan Dougherty, Lauren Barkie, Harrison Church, Jenna Barkie, Samuel Church, Conner Barkie, Justin Barkie, Evan Barkie, Emma Barkie, and Ethan Barkie. Visitation will take place at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church on Saturday, August 25, 2012 from 11 AM – 1 PM with service at 1 PM and burial to follow at Highland Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY.
