“As I sit in Heaven and watch you everyday, I try and let you know with signs, I never went away. I hear you when you’re laughing, and I watch you as you sleep, I even place my arms around you, to calm you as you weep. I see you wish the days away, begging to have me home. So I try to send you signs, so you know you are not alone. Don’t feel guilty that you have life. Life that was denied to me, heaven is truly beautiful, just you wait and see! So live your life, laugh again, enjoy yourself, be free. Then I ‘ll know with each breath you take, you’ll be taking one for me.”
With hearts full of love and sorrow, we announce the brief but beautiful life of Willow Rosemae Lewis, who entered this world too soon on April 12, 2025. Though her time with us was fleeting, her presence left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who loved her.
Willow was a precious gift — a tiny soul who brought immense joy, hope, and dreams to her parents and family from the moment they knew of her. Born at just 25 weeks, she was cradled in love and surrounded by prayers.
She was already cherished beyond measure by her devoted parents, who dreamed of holding her hand, watching her grow, and sharing a lifetime of memories. Her grandparents and extended family were eagerly awaiting her arrival, each imagining the special place she would hold in their lives. Although Willow could not stay, she will forever remain nestled in their hearts.
Willow is survived by her sweet parents, Selena Hand and Anthony Lewis; maternal grandparents, Anastasia “Stacie” (Jerry) McDaniel; paternal grandma, Amanda Long; paternal great-grandma, Toni Mills; many aunts and uncles including, Michael Lewis, Bobby Hand, Alexis Hand, Devin Hill, Jay Dotson, Elizabeth McDaniel, Amanda McDaniel, Josh and Macayla Evans, Lillian Lewis, and Danny Rockey; her great-grandpa, Billy Jack Thomas; great-great grandma Helen Blevins; great aunts, Sandra Dotson, Bev Johnson, Shelly Fogal, and Delores Lucas; great-uncle, Lee Fogal; a nephew, Henry; and a niece, Carolynn.
She is preceded in death by her paternal great-grandpa, Gary Mills; maternal great-grandma, Patricia Blevins; paternal great-great grandpa James “Bud” Blevins; and uncles, Hunter O’Neil and Scott Purvis.
Purple butterflies, symbols of transformation, hope, and gentle beauty, have always held deep meaning for the family — and now, they will carry her memory on every wing.
“Not every win is a positive and not every loss is a negative”
Willow Rosemae Lewis, though your journey was brief, your spirit is eternal. You were — and always will be — deeply, fiercely, and unconditionally loved.
“An angel in the book of life wrote down my baby’s birth.
Then whispered as she closed the book, ‘Too beautiful for Earth.’”
