William “Bill” Frederick Durstock, 85, of Edgewood, KY, passed away on Sunday November 9th, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. He was a product supervisor for General Electric for 38 years, a member of the American Legion in Latonia, a St. Elizabeth volunteer, a member of the Golden Age Club and he also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, receiving the occupation medal for both Germany and Okinawa. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Beatrice Durstock; his son, Joseph Durstock; his sister, Shirley Thoss; his brothers, Jim and Paul Durstock; and his grandson, J. Joseph Beck. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ruth Durstock of Edgewood; his sons, Bill (Debbie Cleveland) Durstock of Maineville, OH, Jack Durstock of Independence, Bob “Burt” (Sheila) Durstock of Edgewood, Tim Durstock of Ft. Wright, and Andy (Jenny) Durstock of Edgewood; his daughters, Lynn Beck of Edgewood, Mary (Patrick) Burch of Edgewood, Jane (Michael) Apodaca of Salado, TX, and Peggi (Steve) Benner of Independence. He also leaves behind his 25 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be on Thursday November 13th, 2014 from 4:30PM-7:00PM at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Edgewood. Mass of Christian burial will follow the visitation at 7:00PM at the Church. Burial on Friday, November 14th, 2014 at 11AM at Mother of God Cemetery in Latonia. Memorials to: Redwood Rehabilitation Center, 71 Orphanage Rd., Ft. Mitchell, KY 41017 or Hospice Care of St. Elizabeth 483 South Loop Dr. Edgewood, KY 41017.
