Tributes
William C. “Dobie” Wills, 78, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed away on November 13, 2025. Born on December 2, 1946 in Baltimore, Maryland.
A natural adventurer and lifelong world explorer; Dobie had a spirited love for life. He proudly served in the United States Navy. After his service he settled in Northern Kentucky where he raised his family. He was a devoted father, teaching his daughters life lessons and making countless sacrifices for “his girls,” and always knowing they were his greatest pride. Later in life, he retired from long haul commercial truck driving to Somerset, KY.
Dobie was endlessly fun, full of stories and the kind of person who never met a stranger. Anyone who knew him carries a “Dobie story” and each one is told with a smile. He was a loving father, a playful granddad and a man who cherished his family above all else.
Dobie is survived by his daughters, Jacki (Rob) Matheny and Jessica (Avi) Ohad; his beloved grandchildren Austin, Holly, Maya, Nes, Valentino, and Noah; his siblings David Schafer and Bonnie Spencer; his cousin, Joyce Cain; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger, Kentucky from 4:00–6:00 PM with a Blessing at 6:00 PM. Burial will follow on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Mill Springs Veterans Cemetery in Nancy, Kentucky at 2:30 PM where he will be laid to rest with honors.
Dobie lived a life full of adventure, laughter, and love. His memory will be treasured by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
