Warren Tanner Burton, 19, passed away suddenly June 2, 2024, at his residence in Burlington KY. Warren, a Construction Management major at NKU, was continuing his career pursuits, first started at the Ignite Institute in Erlanger, where he graduated from the Engineering Pathway program in 2023. Warren was an expert at film photography and you could often catch a glimpse of his Ansco Memo camera, from the 1920’s, sticking out of his backpack.  Additional hobbies included: collecting gems and minerals, gem faceting, playing airsoft with friends, and more recently, making and painting pottery. If you attended a recent Makerspace event at the Ignite Institute, you likely saw Warren proudly presenting his antique film cameras, photos from his expired film, and other authentic photography materials, while always wearing a big smile and ready for a detailed conversation.

Survivors include his parents Jeremy and Rebecca Burton, brother Wade Burton, maternal grandparents Glenn and Ruth Tanner, paternal grandparents Roy and Patricia Burton. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Visitation will be held Saturday June 8, 2024 from 10am to 1pm with funeral services to follow at Hopeful Lutheran Church, 6430 Hopeful Church Rd, Florence, KY 41042. Burial will be held at Hopeful Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the “Warren Tanner Burton Scholarship Fund” c/o any U.S. Bank. ,

My deepest condolences

I was and still am really shooked by the news that Warren passed away. Even though we never met in real life we understood eachother so well through our shared passion for rare films. Honestly I don’t think there’s anyone else as passionate as he was about this topic, and that has left a void in me as well… I’m very saddened but also thankful that his collection and name will live on. I’d also like to dedicate a film stock at some point to him, named after one of his attempts, the “Triumph Pan” film, that never made it out to the world.

To the Burton Family,

To the Burton Family, I’ve known Warren since Elementary School and had a class with him last semester at NKU. What a wonderful man he was becoming. I’m so sincerely sorry for your loss.

Sincere condolences

Jeremy & Family,
Please accept our heartfelt condolences for the loss of your beloved son. You all will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Goodbye Friend

Warren was my best friend. When I first met him in the 9th grade, I was very unsociable and had no friends. I would spend every single day as a recluse, held up in my bedroom. Despite that, he would willingly interact with me and forced me to go outside and tear down the walls I’ve made for myself, and I envisioned us being around one another up into old age. I wish I could’ve been there for him more and that I was kinder towards him. Rest in peace, Warren.

Warren was a fantastic friend

I’ve been friends with Warren since 6th grade. He was such a phenomenal person and I’m so glad to have known him, he was an amazing person and was such an amazing guy. I wish I had more time with him but I’m glad to have had the time I did with him.

Wonderful Young Man

Warren was a wonderful young man. He was an interesting student with a great personality. He loved to show us photography and I was lucky to have Warren as a student at the Ignite Institute. I’m saddened at the news of his passing and I wish the family peace at this difficult time.
