Wanda Jadean Murray

Obituary
Condolences

Wanda “Jadean” Murray, 83, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. Born on November 17, 1942, in Geary, Oklahoma, Jadean lived her life with strength, warmth, humor, and an unwavering devotion to her family and community.

Jadean spent her early years in Oklahoma and attended Putnam City Schools before transferring and graduating from Bethany High School in 1960. Her formative years were shaped by a strong foundation of faith and family. She grew up attending the Free Methodist Church and later raised her own family at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene, a place that remained central to her life and values. Jadean was a strong supporter of Bethany schools, serving on the school board and being a part of the athletic booster club. Her girls knew exactly where she was sitting at their basketball games as they could always hear her cheering them on.

In 2005 Jadean moved from Oklahoma to Kentucky to live with her daughter, Tresa, and her family, and to be closer to her daughter, Lori. She loved being able to spend quality time with them after living far apart, and especially being able to be an everyday part of her grandsons’ lives.

Jadean worked many years as a secretary, most of those spent at BNC/SNU in Bethany, OK. She always offered a listening ear and was known as a surrogate mom to many students at SNU. Her home was often filled with college friends of her daughters, full of laughter and the comforting presence of someone who truly cared and supported them. Her office in the religion dept was a space where students knew they could come and talk and feel safe. She was faithful to pray for those she listed in her prayer journal over the years.

Her legacy is one of strength, humor, faith, and unconditional love. Her family loved seeing her quick wit right up to the end of her life, part of what made her a favorite of those who were caring for her in her last 6 months.

Jadean was a beloved mother to her daughters Tresa (Michael) King and Lori (Randy) Green. Her love extended deeply to her grandchildren, Cameron King and Alex (Cassie) King; as well as to her bonus granddaughters Alyssa Scheid and Rachel (Ben) Walter. Jadean also cherished her great-grandsons Colton Scheid and Eli Walter, who brought joy to her later years.

Jadean was preceded in death by her father Garnet Quinn, mother Euseba Quinn, sister Marlene Quinn and most recently her nephew Jason Quinn.

May her memory bring comfort to all whose lives she touched.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Alzheimer’s/Dementia Awareness in her honor, and next time you’re at Chick-fil-A (her favorite), raise your drink and think of her.

Visitation will be at First Church of Christ in Burlington, Kentucky on Friday, January 9th from 5-7pm. Visitation and service in Bethany, Oklahoma will be held sometime in the near future.
