Thomas Williams

Thomas S. Williams, age 74 and a resident of Edgewood died January 19, at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center. Tom was a very accomplished reporter for The Kentucky Post, the Community Recorder, The Lexington Herald Leader, and The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle and was the recipient of many awards for his journalism, including the Scripps Howard Award. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and member of the Royal Order of the Rock, and the Royal Order of the Blue Roses. Survivors include his wife Terri Bonar- Stewart Williams of Edgewood; 2 sons Terence E.(Lindsay) and Scott T. (Joyce)Williams of Rochester, New York; a daughter Therese R. (Curtis) Poland of Burlington, KY , a stepson Ashley W. (Christi) Stewart of Union and a sister Cindy (Darwin) Derr of Aurora, Nebraska. Tom was grandpa to 5 grandchildren. His dearest friend, Mary Jo Ruccio, also survives him. A brother John Williams preceded Tom in death
A Memorial Gathering will be held 4pm -6pm Friday, Jan 23rd at Linnemann Funeral Home and Event Center, Burlington. A short Memorial Service will follow immediately. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 3725 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076.
