Tributes
Thomas J. (Tom) Cahill Sr., born April 4, 1944, passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on November 18, 2025. Raised in Ludlow and Florence, Kentucky, Tom carried the values of his hometowns with him throughout his life before moving to Erlanger, Kentucky, where he raised his family.
Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Kathleen (Kathy) Cahill; his twin brother, Timothy James (“Timmy”) Cahill; and his parents, Leroy Thomas (Joe) Cahill and Marcella Henrietta Cahill (Tepe).
He is survived by his three children: Thomas Cahill Jr. (Shannon), Kimberly Maddox (Don), and Christina Graves (Dan). He was a devoted grandfather to Alana Cahill-Rodriguez (Tony), Lauren Cahill, Aidan Cahill, Kyla Graves, Katie Graves, and Hannah Maddox. He also leaves behind a cherished great-granddaughter, Maria Kathleen Rodriguez, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Tom is also survived by his loyal dog, Mikey, who remained a beloved companion in his later years.
Tom spent his career with Cincinnati Public Schools, where he taught and supported generations of students throughout his many years of dedicated service.
He had a lifelong passion for sports—especially baseball. He played college baseball at Villa Madonna College and was a standout member of the 1965 team later inducted into the Thomas More Athletic Hall of Fame. His love for the game continued throughout his life, whether he was playing, watching, or sharing the sport with his family.
Tom will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, teacher, and teammate. His legacy lives on through his family and the many people whose lives he touched.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger, Kentucky. A funeral service will follow immediately after. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Fort Mitchell.
