Tara Lynn Williams

Obituary
Condolences

Tara Lynn Williams, 44, of Northern Kentucky, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on February 16, 1981, in Covington, KY, Tara’s life was a testament to resilience, determination, and love. At birth, she faced medical challenges that many believed would prevent her from walking, speaking, or leading an independent life. Through the support of her family, the care of dedicated physicians, and her own unshakable will, Tara defied expectations. She became ambulatory, developed a sharp vocabulary, and proudly declared herself “the boss around here.”

She attended Purcell Marian High School, later continuing her education at National Louis University in Evanston, IL. While in Chicago, Tara embraced independence—navigating the train system, securing an internship, and even hosting friends with her well-stocked refrigerator of soft drinks and wine coolers, always keeping a careful tally. Her determination to live a full and meaningful life inspired everyone who knew her.

On March 16, 2004, Tara’s life changed forever when she was struck by a car in a pedestrian walkway. She endured significant injuries and spent many months in hospitals and rehabilitation facilities, ultimately finding a home at The Beechwood Home in Hyde Park, where she was lovingly cared for until her passing.

Tara was preceded in death by her mother, Michele Williams. She is survived by her devoted father, Dr. JD (Deborah Thaman) Williams; her brother, Dr. J. Ryan (Erin) Williams; her sister, Renee Jones; and her beloved nieces and nephews, Mackenzie, James, Kate, Charlotte, Zach, Nate, and Annie. Her family takes comfort in knowing Tara is at peace, reunited with her mother.

JD often said he was honored that God entrusted him with being Tara’s father, and all who loved her are grateful for the gift of her life.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Barbara Church in Erlanger, KY. A reception will follow from 11:00 AM–2:00 PM at the Sterling Center. Tara will be laid to rest next to her mother at St. Mary Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY.

Memorial contributions may be made in her honor to The Beechwood Home, 2140 Pogue Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45208.
