Obituary
Condolences

Susan Sander, age 66, of Burlington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones at home.

Susan was born on January 14, 1958 and grew up in Northern Kentucky, where she graduated from Dixie Heights High School. She later pursued her passion for caring for others, first attending Eastern Kentucky University before completing her nursing
degree at Northern Kentucky University. For over 20 years, Susan dedicated herself to her role as a labor and delivery nurse, where her warmth, compassion, and infectious laughter left a lasting impact on countless families. She truly touched the lives of
everyone she cared for, always bringing a sense of calm and joy during what could be the most challenging and emotional moments of life.
Susan was not only a remarkable nurse but also a devoted mother and grandmother. She took great pride in her family, showering them with love, support, and laughter throughout her life. Her presence was a constant source of happiness, and her smile could light up any room. Susan’s ability to find joy, even in the face of adversity, was a testament to her faith, strength, and resilience.
Outside of her work, Susan had a deep love for the water—whether it was at the lake, beach, or pool, she cherished the sun and the joy of a good tan. Her trips to Florida to visit her mother were always a highlight.
Susan loved to dance and sing, always bringing a sense of fun and liveliness wherever she went. She lived her life with a heart full of joy, and even in her final days, she never lost her ability to smile. She also never lost faith in the Lord. Her catholic faith was very important to her and provided her strength through her illness.

Condolence

Ashley, The loss of a parent leaves a void that words cannot fill. Please accept my heartfelt condolences, and may you find comfort in the arms of those who care about you.

Memory

When I close my eyes and remember Susan, I hear her little girl laughter, and see her pretty blue eyes against her tan skin. My sympathy to all her family at this very sad time in life.

I loved Susan

Susan and I spent most of our teen years together at Dixie Heights as Colonelettes and friends. I can’t begin to tell you how much Susan and her whole family meant to me. It’s hard to realize she’s gone. I know she had lots of medical issues as an adult, but when we talked she was always upbeat. My sincerest condolences to her family. She loved you all so very much. Time and the Lord will eventually help heal your grief, but right now there are no words to help you. She will live in my heart forever.

Condolences to Susan’s family

I only knew Susan for a few years but she captured my heart with her beautiful smile and sunny disposition. She was beautiful inside and outside and a genuine person who you wanted to be around. She will be missed and remembered by many.
