Steven Mark Abbott, 61, of Independence, KY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Hospice Care of St. Elizabeth in Edgewood, KY. Steve was Executive Director at Cincinnati Cancer Advisors for four years and graduated from Holmes High School and Northern Kentucky University.

Steve was a passionate advocate for patients diagnosed with cancer. He traveled to Washington, D.C., every year to lobby for funding for Prostate Cancer research with the Zero Foundation and fought the disease himself for over ten years. His sense of humor and dedication to family and friends were unmatched.

Steve is survived by his parents, Gerald and Barbara Abbott; his loving wife of 40 years, Diana Abbott (nee Sewell); and his siblings, Bradley (Erin) Abbott, Debbie McNeil, and Lisa (Don) Moore.

Steve also leaves behind his nephews Mitch, Matthew, Zachary, Sean, and Christopher, and his nieces Alyssa, Katelyn, and Sara.

At Steve’s request, his Celebration of Life was held on August 15, 2024.
