Steve Hartman
George “Steve” Hartman, 70 of Hebron, passed away on September 26, 2022. Steve was born April 18, 1952 to the late George and Mary Hartman. Growing up, Steve was a hard worker and spent countless hours on his family farm. Steve served his community for over 30 years as a Kentucky State Trooper and Boone County Deputy. During his years of service, Steve received the Purple Heart, Governor’s Medal of Valor, and Guthrie Crowe Award which was awarded to an officer who sustains a severe injury in the line of duty. He was also active with the Kentucky State Police Professional Association and Kentucky State Police Retirement Association. Steve was extremely proud of his lawn and would spend his days mowing. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards with his family and watching scary movies and telling ghost stories to his grandkids. Steve would meet up with “The Guys” (retired officers and friends) for breakfast and always enjoyed going to Danny’s fish frys. But most of all, he deeply loved his grandchildren and will be truly missed by them.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Julie Hartman-Jones. Steve is survived by his daughters: Jacque (Tim) Leiprecht and Samantha (Alex Lewis) Hartman, grandchildren: Madison, Timmy, Jimmy, and Steven, and sister: Michelle (Guy) Tieke and multiple nieces and nephews and in-laws that remained his family throughout the years.
