Sr. Esther O’Hara, OSB

Sister Esther O’Hara, OSB, died peacefully Wednesday evening, January 31, at St. Walburg Monastery at age 88. A Benedictine sister for over 68 years, Sr. Esther served as a teacher and librarian in a number of diocesan elementary schools, a storyteller and ventriloquist and a volunteer at Cincinnati Zoo. She is preceded in death by her parents William and Marie (Wischer) O’Hara, her sisters, Dorothy Placke and Audrey and brothers, Bill and Eugene. Sr. Esther is survived by her brothers Jim and Ken, many nieces and nephews, friends and her Benedictine community. Vigil service will be held at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, February 6 followed by visitation until 9:00 pm and the Mass of Christian Burial at 5:00 pm, Wednesday, February 7 at St. Walburg Monastery.
