Sr. Annita Schirmer

Sr. Annita Schirmer, OSB, 88, faithful member of St. Walburg Monastery for over 68 years, died on December 20. She was born in Warsaw, KY on October 12, 1926 to the late Samuel and Anna Klaren Schirmer. She was the oldest of five children and is survived by her sister, Margaret Coomer (Ed), her brother, Bob , nieces, nephews, friends and members of St. Walburg Monastery. Sr. Annita served as a registered nurse at Santa Fe Hospital in LaJunta, CO, St. Joseph Manor in Florence, CO, Estill County Hospital in Irvine, KY and at St Walburg Monastery infirmary. In 1965 through 1968, she served the Aymara Indians in Pomata, Peru. Vigil service will be held at 7:00 pm, Sunday, December 28 followed by visitation until 9:00 pm and the Mass of Christian Burial at 5:20 pm, Monday, December 29 at St. Walburg Monastery.
