Sister Teresa Wolking

Sister Teresa Wolking, OSB, died peacefully in the early Monday morning of August 31 at St. Walburg Monastery at age 95. A Benedictine sister for over 76 years, Sr. Teresa served as teacher at Villa Madonna Academy, Holy Cross High School and St. Henry High School, the archivist at Villa Madonna Academy and St. Walburg Monastery and a writer for the Diocesan Messenger, periodicals and Medieval Women Monastic Studies. She is preceded in death by her parents Charles F. and Antoinette C. (Mueller) Wolking and her sisters, Sr. Mary Anne, Sr. Amelia, Sr. Mercedes and Sr. Consolata. Sr Teresa is survived by her sister, Sr. Charles Wolking, OSB, students, friends and her Benedictine community. Vigil service will be held at 7:00 pm, Thursday, September 3 followed by visitation until 9:00 pm and the Mass of Christian Burial at 5:00 pm, Friday, September 4 at St. Walburg Monastery.
