Samuel W. Bitter, 74, of Villa Hills, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood.

Sam was an Army Veteran who was stationed in Korea.  He was a simple man who loved classic cars, but even more loved the time he spent with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Bitter; and siblings: Roy A. Bitter, Ronald Bitter, Marie Bitter Judd and Angie Bitter Singleton.

Sam is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Linda Bitter (nee: Katenkamp); children, Troy Bitter (Kelly) and Kristen Vlasis (Steve); and grandchildren: Alexis and Mason Vlasis and Micah, Makenna and Camden Bitter; as well as many other loved ones who will miss him dearly.

A visitation for Sam will be held on Monday, September 12, 2022 from 9 AM until the time of Catholic Blessing at 11:30 AM, at Linnemann Family Funeral Homes, 30 Commonwealth Avenue, Erlanger, KY 41018.  Interment with military honors will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Covington, KY.

Memorial Contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

US Army friend in Korea

I’m sorry to hear about the loss of my army best friend. Sam was a brave and honorable person and a loyal friend. Sam served his country with dignity and courage. You must be proud of their legacy and grateful for the memories you have. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.

Last brother

I cannot believe this has happened I truly feel alone now with all of my family and all Roy family gone. I do realize a lot of the future Generations will bless us. My condolences and prayers and thoughts are with Linda and her family and children. I cannot be there I am in Texas with my daughter Jenny and her family but I am there in spirit.
