Samuel “Sam” Joseph Dailey III, 75, of Erlanger, KY, passed away, at his residence, on Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Sam worked as a tool and gauge inspector for General Electric. After his retirement, being an avid golfer and a member of several golf leagues, Sam worked as a starter at Kenton County Golf Course. During his life, Sam was a member of the Moose Lodge in Taylor Mill, Erlanger Lions Hall of Fame, and played semi-pro football for the Cincinnati Jets, after graduating from Holmes High School. Starting his coaching career at the age of 19, Sam was instrumental in the development of youth sports programs in Northern Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his son Michael Dailey in 1986, his wife Sandy Dailey and his sister Bette Clegg both in 2012. Sam is survived by his children Sherri Snelling, Michelle Asher (Roger), Tim Dailey (Jennifer), Kevin Dailey, 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and his sister Carol Houston (Ted). A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 4pm until 8pm at Linnemann Funeral Home Erlanger. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday May 13, 2015 at 11am at the funeral home.
