Sadie Brown
Sadie Marie Brown (Nee: Cochran) 61, of Florence, Kentucky, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence on Wednesday, September 19, 2012. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Shirley Cochran, and by her brothers: Ralph Cochran and Gary Cochran. She is survived by her husband, Charles Brown of Florence, Kentucky, and her children: Dominique Brown of Cincinnati, Ohio and Christopher Brown of Chicago, Illinois. She is also survived by her brothers: James Cochran (Brenda) of Columbus, Ohio, Richard Cochran (Zelma) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Glenn Cochran (Michelle) of Youngstown, Ohio. She is also survived by her nieces: Shannon Cochran and Yolanda Cochran, and her nephews: Parrish Cochran, Sean Cochran, Patrick Cochran, Troy Cochran, and Ralph Cochran.
Mrs. Brown was a highly energized woman, always standing up for those who were at risk in society. She believed strongly in women’s rights, taught Biblical Studies at Heritage Academy, ministered to youth at a juvenile corrections facility in Cincinnati, and was a fierce advocate for those she loved and believed in, and gave generously to friends, family and to her church. Whatever she did, she did with great style and flare, always being properly coifed and dressed to the nines. She was a member of Crossroads Community Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. She worked at General Electric in her hometown of Youngstown, Ohio for six years. She also worked for two years at the International Union of Technical and Professional Engineers, just two blocks from the White House in Washington, D.C. She was a determined woman who let nothing interfere with her desired goals; acquiring her Bachelor’s Degree from Northern Kentucky University in 2009 after she raised her own children.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 28, 2012 from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the Crossroads Community Church, located at, 3500 Madison Road, Cincinnati, OH 45209. A service will follow at 12:00 P.M. at the church. A private burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Erlanger, KY.
