Ruth F. Hater

Ruth F. Hater, age 84 of Burlington, Kentucky, passed away with her family at her side on Saturday, June 4, 2022. Ruth was one of nine children. She was born to the late Herbert and Lillian Kenter on January 27, 1938 in Newport, Kentucky. Ruth spent many years working as a dispatcher for Pharo Trucking Company. She was a dedicated member of the St. John’s United Church of Christ in Newport, where she attended service every Sunday. Ruth loved to knit, and was known for making beautiful afghans. She loved to go to the beach, specifically Myrtle Beach in South Carolina. She also enjoyed playing golf and bowling.

Ruth is preceded in death by her son, Charles Hater and many of her siblings.

She is survived by her sons; Mark Hater, and Joseph Hater, her sister, Miriam Jackson, a daughter in law, Rona Hater, and nine grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

A visitation for Ruth will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at St. Johns United Church of Christ in Newport, Kentucky from 10:00AM-11:00AM with a service being held at 11:00AM. Burial will follow the service at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
