Rosie Badgett

Rosie Badgett, 77, of Florence, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2024.

Rosie worked as a Unit Secretary at St. E North Hospital and out in California from 1965 until her retirement in 2016. Her vibrant, blooming personality and her loving nature left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.

A true enthusiast of life, Rosie found joy in many things. She had a deep love for cats, which brought her endless comfort and companionship. Her passion for travel, musicals, and sci-fi movies, especially Star Wars, was a testament to her adventurous spirit. Rosie was also known for her enthusiasm for innovative Space: 1999 conventions, where she enjoyed connecting with fellow fans.

Rosie is survived by her sister: Dolores (Harris) Smith, nieces and nephews: Carolyn (Bryan) Day, Earl DeSantis, Lauren Fallada, Amber Coleman, Brittany Coleman, Adam Acuff, Autumn Acuff and several great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Louis and Martha Badgett, grandfather: Albert Hoff, grandmother: Margaret Grimes, aunt: Mary Purtell, aunt: Blanch Burkardt, sister: Mary Lou Badgett, sister: Judy (Andrew) Chappie-DeSanitis and niece: Andrea DeSantis-Acuff.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 4pm to 6pm at Linnemann Funeral Homes, Burlington. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 6pm.
