He was immensely proud of all of his children, supporting them in all aspects of their lives. Stuart’s famed wit and sarcasm as well as his extensive travel itineraries, will be profoundly missed by friends and family. As a person who could never turn down a good Old Fashioned, the family invites you to raise a glass and toast to a life lived fully. In loving memory

I feel so deeply blessed to have known Stuart—and Sharon—and to have the honor of calling them friends. Reconnecting with both of them has been a gift I treasure. Through their generous sharing of photos, stories, and beautiful details of their many travels, they brought the world to us, and we felt as though we journeyed alongside them.
Stuart was, above all, a gentle man: witty, kind, passionate, and full of life.
His devotion to Sharon for over 45 years, is a tribute to the love they shared and an amazing example of what true love really can be.
Thanks to both Stuart and Sharon, we were able to share in the magic of their adventures. Those moments, captured in snapshots and words, will remain forever dear to me. I am so very grateful for having those glimpses into their journey.
Stuart, may you rest well, dear friend, as you now travel the galaxy. I imagine you strumming a guitar among the stars, painting cosmic landscapes, and watching over all of us.
To Sharon, to the Crickmer family, and to everyone who knew and loved him: I send you love and big hugs. Your loss echoes deeply, and I mourn with you. His legacy, his gentleness, his humor, and his generosity lives on in the hearts of all of us.
Godspeed, Stuart. Until we meet again. 💙

A pleasure to know him

Sharon and family,
The 5C staff were privileged to care for Stuart during his journey. Even on his worst days, his sense of humor and kindness were always shining through. I could always count on him to go down a rabbit hole about music with me or to share stories about his travels. Very thankful that he was blessed with so many people who cared about him.

The Wonder of you will be missed

Hello Sharon and family,

I just wanted to leave you all a note: Stuart and Sharon have been a light in my life. As a Fidelity Technical Coach, I have had the absolute pleasure to have shared learning with our young college graduates and you. Each and every graduate not only loved their time with you, they were blown away by how much your teaching gave them for their lives to come. They were truly happy with their time with you.

As for my part, it was always a pleasure to spend time with both of you a couple of times a year. For Sharon, all our cats say, “Hello!”

Warmest regards, love, and much respect,

Jim Pearson

Stuart’s legacy blooms in every heart he touched

Dear Sharon and Family,

My heart goes out to you during this difficult time. I am deeply saddened by the passing of my dear friend Stuart.

It was a joy and privilege to work alongside Stuart and you, educating children about investments across Ohio. He had a remarkable gift for turning a challenging subject into hours of fun for students, both young and older. Stuart was also a beloved part of our CPIM team (with Kyana, Dawn, and Shari) at the Ohio Treasurer of State’s Office. His wit and humor always brightened the room, making him one of my favorite people. I will cherish our many pleasant discussions over tea at ZenCha Tea Salon in Columbus, Ohio.

Stuart’s love for you and his children shone through in everything he did, always evident and inspiring. I feel truly blessed to have shared a friendship with such a kind and gentle man, who will be deeply missed.

Please know I am here for you with my prayers and support, offering comfort and peace as you navigate this loss.

With deepest sympathy,

Orvell Johns
