Tributes
Robert Richard Wiebe, of Villa Hills, passed away on May 8, 2026, at the age of 75. Born in Covington, KY on November 29, 1950, he was the son of the late Robert Peter Wiebe and Rosemary Wiebe (née Dalheim). He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Wellbrock. Robert was a graduate of Holy Cross High School, received his bachelor’s degree from Northern Kentucky University and Master’s Degree from Xavier University. As a Vietnam Veteran, he served proudly in the United States Army receiving medals for National Defense Service, Vietnam Service, Vietnam Campaign, Marksman, and Good Conduct.
Robert never met a stranger. With his quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and natural ability to make people laugh, he could turn an ordinary conversation into a memorable one. Whether he was sharing stories, cracking jokes, or catching up with friends and family, Robert made people feel comfortable wherever he went.
Above all else, he loved his family deeply — especially his grandchildren, who lovingly knew him as “Pop Pop.” He never missed a chance to hear every detail about what was happening in their lives and took great joy in being part of all their adventures, big and small.
Robert loved sports and treasured the time spent supporting his son Robbie in baseball and basketball, and his daughter, Jenny, in gymnastics. He enjoyed tinkering with household projects, grilling his famous BBQ chicken, and making big Sunday breakfasts. He also loved to travel and worked hard to make sure his family experienced the world alongside him, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Wiebe (née Droege); his children, Robert Wiebe (Christina) and Jennifer Henry (Chad); his siblings, Greg Wiebe, Denise Akins, Mary Ann Hausfeld, and Peggy Prang (Dick); and his beloved grandchildren, Kayla Henry, Brett Henry, Anna Henry, and Joey Wiebe.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 23, from 9:00 a.m. until the Memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial inurnment will follow at Mother of God Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Elizabeth Hospice.
Robert’s laughter, stories, and love for his family will be deeply missed, but the memories he created with those he loved will live on for generations.
