Robert Kirby

Robert Lee Kirby, Sr. , age 83, died on Saturday October 24, 2015 at his Burlington residence. Robert was a builder and a longtime resident of Boone County. He was very active in many organizations and civic affairs. Robert was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Hebron Ward. His wife Gwylenn “Pat” Kirby preceded him in death. Survivors include his children Robert (Kathy) Kirby of Greer, South Carolina, William “Bill” (Bonita) Kirby of Burlington, Ben (Donna) Kirby of Burlington, Bruce (Jackie) Kirby of Bright, Indiana, Bonnie (Charles) Cronin of Union, and Brian (Denise) Kirby of Burlington; 2 brothers Denning “Kimo” Kirby of Union, David Kirby of Burlington and Chris Kirby of California; 21 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 28, 2015 5-8pm at Linnemann Funeral Home and Event Center, Burlington. The funeral service will be held at 10am on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Burlington Cemetery.
