Robert E. Balsley Jr.

Robert E. Balsley Jr., 70, of Burlington, KY, formerly of Moore, OK, passed away on December 12, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, KY surrounded by his family. Robert was an Engineering Technician for the Department of Defense for 42 years and mentored many during his years of service. Additionally, Robert served in the United States Air Force, was a Cincinnati Bengals, Reds, and University of Oklahoma fan, and he enjoyed playing Dungeons and Dragons with his buddies. He also was a novelist and author, but most important to Robert was spending time with his family.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. and Carol Balsley; and his son, William August Balsley.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Rhonda Balsley (nee Warren); his daughters, Kelly (Danny Sr.) Eldridge and Kimberley (Andrew) Donaldson; and his siblings, Teresa (Chuck Kraynik) Duffy, Denise (Kent) Kollenberg, Catherine Kollenberg, and Mark (Diane) Balsley.

Robert also leaves behind his grandchildren, Hannah, Danny Jr., August, Robert, and Brookelynn, whom he loved and adored.

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 12:30PM-2:00PM at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Burlington, KY. A catholic blessing will take place at 2:00PM at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery New in Cincinnati, OH.

To honor of his love for Elder High School, guests are encouraged to wear dark purple.
