Obituary
Condolences

Robert “Bob” T. Green, 79, of Burlington, KY, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY, surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born in Rockwood, MI to the late James and Marion Green. He graduated from Morehead State University in 1967 with a degree in Economics and Political Science and began working as a Teacher and Guidance Counselor at Boone County High School. In 1972, Bob continued his career in the education system as a Guidance and Admissions Counselor for Northern Kentucky Technical College, now known as Gateway Community & Technical College. In 1995, Bob became the Assistant to the Kentucky Governor’s Cabinet Secretary for Workforce Development until 1999 when he became the Senior Vice President of Tri-County Economic Development Corporation (Tri-ED), now BE NKY. He served on numerous Boards and Committees throughout his career and was the recipient of countless community service awards.

Bob loved sports.  He was an avid Cincinnati Reds and Bengals fan. However, his love for the University of Michigan Wolverines was unsurpassed. He would often be seen sporting a Big Blue hat or sweatshirt. Bob was a born problem-solver who often took on difficult projects in his work and around the house. Most of all, Bob was a friend to many.  He was always willing to lend a hand or an ear to a friend.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Beatrice Geniac and Judith Manning.

Bob is survived by his longtime companion, Pat Gutzeit; his brother, James Green; his brother-in-law, Pat Manning; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held by Bob’s family at Michigan Memorial Gardens in Midland, MI on a later date.  A Celebration of Life honoring Bob will be announced for local friends in Northern Kentucky very soon.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Robert T. Green Scholarship Fund with BE NKY Growth Partnership.

Sincere Condolences

Our thoughts and prayers to Pat and to Bob’s many close friends and family members. I had the pleasure of working collaboratively with Bob on various economic and workforce development projects early on in my career. I learned so much from him, and know how much he did for the Northern Kentucky business community, especially those in manufacturing.
