Richard Skanse

Richard Oliver Skanse, age 87, former resident of Hoyt Lakes, MN died Saturday December 18th while visiting his son in Burlington, Ky. He was a WWII veteran and a retired mining engineer. Richard was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and golfing. He was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hoyt Lakes. Richard was preceded in death by his wife Eva Anderson Skanse and a brother George Skanse. Survivors include a son Randy Skanse; daughters Jonna Carr and Melodee DiFillippo; 2 sisters Shirley Jean Hartnell and Barbara Joan Hesterly; 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be Wednesday 11:00a.m., at Hebron Lutheran Church in Hebron, Kentucky. Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church in Hoyt Lakes Minnesota or Oak Lake Church in Kerrick , Minnesota. Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington is serving the family.
A burial service will take place at Oak Lake Cemetery in the spring.
