Richard “Rick” Conrad
Richard “Rick” Conrad, 71 of Walton, KY, died unexpectedly on July 2nd at Jewish Hospital. He was always a fighter and bravely served our country. Rick was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Air Force and the United States Army as Special Forces. His proud Native American heritage of the Cherokee Nation drove his extensive genealogical research. Hewas recognized as a Kentucky Colonel for his efforts in developing a state licensure for medical massage practice. Rick’s mission in Christ was manifested by his pro bono medical massage services for Cancer patients during his career as a licensed medical massage therapist. In addition to his passion, he shared his knowledge as an anatomy instructor. He also enjoyed experimental cooking/baking, watching a UK game, fishing, and sailing. He even devoted time to beekeeping. Rick will be missed by those who love and survive him; beloved wife of 32 years, Susan; son, Sam (Sandy) Richendollar; daughter, Amy Conrad Marple; grandsons Levi and Noah; brother, Clarence (Marlene) Conrad and many nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues. He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Elvessie Conrad; sisters Nancy (Jim) Ritchie, Jan (Joyce) Russell and Audrey (Ronald) Spencer and brother, John (Delores) Conrad; and first wife, Mary Jane Ginn Conrad. A memorial visitation will be Saturday, July 7th from 10-11AM with a service to follow at the Chapel at Highland Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY.
