Richard A. Waymeyer

Obituary
Condolences

Richard Anthony Waymeyer, 81 of Florence passed away on January 6, 2025.

Richard lived a life full of service, adventure and love. He served his country as a Seabee in the U.S. Navy where he traveled across the world, including the Naval stations of Antarctica. Upon his honorable departure from the armed services, Richard found a passion for creativity, channeling his drafting skills and sense of duty to his community into his career as a draftsman, cartographer and leader in the creative industry. Richard worked for Deluxe Engraving in Cincinnati for many years as their Art Director where he would eventually retire and enjoy his passions in life including fishing, model railroading, woodworking, photography, yardwork, traveling, camping, playing poker with work friends, and of course, spending time with his family.

Richard was a man who could seldom be found without a bright smile on his face and a laugh to share with those he loved. He was a prime example of someone who infused every aspect of his life with the things he was most passionate about and proud of. It is hard to find a more loving and kind soul than Richard Waymeyer

Richard was preceded in death by his parents: Albert and Catherine Waymeyer and sister: Marilyn “Tee” West. Richard is survived by his best friend and wife of 61 years: Joyce Waymeyer, children: Chris (Missy) Waymeyer, Betsy (Jimmy) Klapheke, Cindy Pracht and Eric (Kasi) Waymeyer, grandchildren: Jake, Sam, Gabriella, Grace, Amanda, Alicia, Zach, Cole, and Peyton, and great-grandchildren: Landon, Carter, Nathaniel, Margot, Barrett.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 11am to 1pm at Linnemann Funeral Homes, Burlington. Military honors will be rendered at 1pm. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association. Online condolences can be left at www.LinnemannFuneralHomes.com
