Ralph “Eddie” Edward Smith II

Ralph “Eddie” Edward Smith II, 55, of Burlington, KY passed away Monday, September 9, 2019. Eddie was born on September 12, 1963 in Lexington, KY to the late Ralph E. and Fernetta Smith. Eddie was a huge UK Football fan, and he enjoyed getting his friends and family together to cheer them on. He loved watching his son Eli play football, and he was very proud of his daughter Hagen’s achievements in medical school. He also enjoyed fishing and golfing with his buddies. Eddie was a loving father, husband, and a dear friend, and he will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his father: Ralph Edward Smith, mother: Fernetta Combs, stepmother: Virgina Smith, stepfather: Tommy Combs, and his brother-in-law: Mack Calvert. Eddie is survived by his loving wife: Jenny Calvert-Smith, his beloved children: Hagen Elizabeth Smith and Eli McBrayer Smith, sister: Tracy (Jim) Dahl, his mother and father-in-law: Stewart McBrayer and Barbara Calvert, his brothers-in-law: Tony (Debbie) Calvert, and Jeff (Jan) Calvert, sister-in-law: Sheila Calvert; nieces/nephews: Katie Reisner, Landon Calvert, Sommer Calvert, Emma Calvert, Matthew Calvert, Megan Calvert, Andrew Calvert, Jadon Calvert, Noah Calvert, Kaela Calvert, Riley Dahl, and Emma Dahl, and his dear friends including: Rick Hale, Kevin Cheek, Cory Jonson, Doug Robinson, Matt Jennings, Pete Pavek, Kelly Tucker, Ed Sapp and Mike Waymeyer. A memorial visitation will be held for Eddie on Friday, September 13, 2019 from 12pm until 2pm at Linnemann Funeral Home, 30 Commonwealth Avenue, Erlanger, KY 41018. A memorial service will be held following the visitation at 2pm at the Funeral Home.
