Ralph “David” Zerhusen, 71, of Ryland Lakes, KY, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 15, 2024, at his residence while celebrating mass with his wife after many days, surrounded by his loving family. Dave retired from the insurance and financial planning business in 2021 after 40 years of service and he continued to mentor to many for years afterward.

Dave will be remembered as a devout Catholic, a self-less follower of Jesus, the ultimate patriarch of his family, and a dear friend to many.

Dave was very committed to serving in leadership roles in his church & community. He was a member of the Matthew Kelly Foundation, Thomas More College Foundation Board, Diocesan Catholic Children’s Home Foundation Board, Lighthouse Catholic Media Ministry, Men’s Cursillo, and he was a member of the National Association of Fraternal Insurance Counselors. Additionally, he was a long-time member of St. Patrick Church in Taylor Mill, KY, and of Ryland Lakes Country Club, where he raised his family.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Louise Zerhusen; and his siblings, Cathy and Stephen Zerhusen.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Shauna Jacobs Zerhusen; his children, Elizabeth (Chris) Holmes, Matthew (Sarah) Zerhusen, Amy (Ryan) Maschmeyer, Ella (Steve) Vogt, and Maggie (Bret) Holbrook; his sisters, Linda (Larry) Bohart and Carol (Steve) Holthaus; and his brother-in-law’s, Gerhardt (Joan) Jacobs, Mark (Ann) Jacobs, and David (Denise) Jacobs.

Dave was also the proud grandpa and PawPaw to Chris Jr., Chase, Karston, Kyle, Carter, Charlotte, Ava, Zoey, Riley, Harper, Kinsley, Remy, Ryker, and Caden.

Visitation will be on Friday, November 22, 2024 from 3:30PM-7:30PM at St. Patrick Church in Taylor Mill, KY. Mass of Christian burial will be on Saturday, November 23 at 10:00AM at St. Patrick Church. He will be laid to rest at Mother of God Cemetery in Latonia, KY.
