R. J. Kidwell (August 8, 1928 to September 26, 2015) As a senior in high school R. J. attended a revival in Kentucky at the Minorsville Christian Church, was baptized in a creek across the road from the church and that same evening committed his life to preaching the Gospel. He would spend the next 55 years proclaiming Christ in located ministries. R. J. attended Cincinnati Bible College (Cincinnati Christian University) where he met his wife Patsy Gibson (deceased 2013). Together they started churches in Michigan and Texas. While in San Antonio, R. J. also served as President of Southern Christian College through a merger with Dallas Christian College. In 1965, R. J. accepted an invitation to return to Cincinnati Bible College (CCU) where he enjoyed a teaching career for 35 years training preachers. During that time he held ministries in Kentucky for 24 years at Sherman Church of Christ and 18 years at Elsmere Church of Christ. R. J. is survived by his daughters Vicky (Steve) Kehrer, Pam (Jay) Link, son Jay (Lisa) Kidwell, 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. All his children and grandchildren are active in the work of the kingdom. R. J. often quoted a song that reminded him of the night he was saved, “Jesus took my burden and left me with a son”. If R. J. were still here, he’d want you to know that Jesus has a song for you! A visitation will be held on Thursday October 1, 2015 10am until 11am at Elsmere Church of Christ. The funeral service will immediately follow and begin at 11am at the church. In lieu of flowers, make memorial donations on behalf of R. J.
