Phyllis M. Dattilo
Phyllis M. Dattilo, 81, of Union, KY, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY.
Phyllis was born in 1943 and was a graduate of the Academy Notre Dame of Providence in 1961. Soon after, she married the love of her life, Jerry, with whom she shared a deep and enduring bond. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
A devoted homemaker, Phyllis was also an accomplished artist and an avid quilter. She was a proud member of both the Woman’s Art Club of Cincinnati and the Cincinnati Art Club, and she shared her passion for art as a former teacher at Baker-Hunt Art and Cultural Center in Covington. Phyllis earned local recognition for her talent, receiving numerous awards for her work over the years.
Phyllis’s creativity and artistic spirit were mirrored in her deep devotion to family. Her favorite moments were spent with her loved ones, especially during her weekly traditions: painting watercolors on Fridays with her dear friends, Elaine West and Sue Pater; Sunday Fundays filled with family gatherings; and Tuesday dates with Jerry—shopping, enjoying lunch, and attending local concerts, with a special fondness for FOREVER DIAMOND, a Neil Diamond tribute band.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Garnet Yourell; brother, Max “Eddie” Ladnow; and granddaughter, Desiree Sandlin.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Jerome “Jerry” Dattilo; daughters: Dawn (James) Sutherland, Kristine (Nicholas) Beatty, Lori (Kenny) Sandlin, Karen (Tony) Weinfurtner; grandchildren: Cameron, Nichole (Todd), Stephanie (Robert), Jeremiah, Samantha (Eric), Andrew (Melissa), Lydia, Kasey and Logan; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Loretta (Danny) McLaren; as well as many nieces, nephews and other family members.
