Obituary
Condolences
Philip G. Moore, 90, of Covington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025. Born on June 18, 1935, in Covington to the late Edward and Marie Moore, Philip was a man known for his quick wit, sarcasm, and unforgettable one-liners. His sense of humor was cherished by all who knew him.
Philip dedicated much of his life working in horse racing, where his career took him to some remarkable places—including sharing the same room with figures such as Queen Elizabeth, President John F. Kennedy, and Pete Rose. But no matter how impressive the company, Philip remained grounded in what mattered most to him: his family, his friends, and a good laugh.
He is survived by his beloved son Andy Moore; his brother Morgan Moore; and his sister-in-law Barbara Moore. Philip was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife Therese Moore (née Arens); his son Philip Moore; sisters Margie Molony, Marie Nieman, and Fern Schweer; and brothers Roger Moore, John Moore, Thomas (Shelley) Moore, and Edward Moore III.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. A reception will immediately follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Philip’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or St. Henry Catholic Church.
Philip’s legacy lives on in the laughter he inspired and the love he shared. He will be deeply missed.

HE WILL BE MISSED

I WILL MISS SEEING PHIL AT THE SUMMIT. IT WAS ALWAYS A PLEASURE TO TALK TO HIM AND WITH HIS GROUP OF MEN. IT LOOKS LIKE HE HAD AN EXCITING LIFE. I’M SURE HE IS ENJOYING HEAVEN AND MEETING HIS FAMILY. ANDY YOU WERE VERY KIND TO YOUR FATHER. I KNOW FROM YOUR FATHER HE WAS EXCITED TO SEE YOU AND TAKE HIM FOR A RIDE. GOD BLESS YOU FOR HONORING YOUR FATHER.

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers

Andy…. So sorry for your loss. Knowing he is reunited with both your Mom and brother will hopefully give you peace of heart and mind. You took such loving good care of him. Kathy Thomas

To know Phil Moore was to love him

I took care of Phillip when he was at St E on the skilled unit, I spent a lot of time with him and at the time was pregnant with my son. Phillip was truly such a pleasure to get to know and I am so honored I had the time I did with him! He talked to me about the type of parent I wanted to be and gave me only the best life advice. I am so sorry for your loss, he spoke so highly of his son Andy and how he was so proud of him. I know he is finally at peace now that he is reunited with the love of his life. He never missed a beat when talking about her and the life they shared.
