Monica “Moni” J. Strathern, 83, of Chardon, OH, passed away on October 12, 2016 at her daughter’s residence surrounded by her loving family. She was a homemaker, an avid quilter, a member of Mary Heuy’s Quilting Girls, and fundraising volunteer for Metro Catholic School in Cleveland. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Pauline Cesar; and her brother, Clarence Cesar. Moni is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Bob Strathern; her daughter, Mary Ann (Mark) Zalla; her brother, Larry (Joanne) Cesar; and her sister Carole (Tom) Stanley. “Nan” or “Nani” also leaves behind her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Daniel and Kathryn Zalla. Visitation will be on Monday October 17, 2016 from 10:30AM-12:00PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Crescent Springs, KY. Mass of Christian Burial will follow the visitation at 12:00PM at the church. Burial at St. Mary Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to: Sisters of Notre Dame 13000 Auburn Rd. Dearest Bob, I was so sorry to hear of Monica’s passing. I pray she did not suffer too long. I believe she is another angel we can pray to up in heaven. Please know that we thought that the two of you were so wonderful together and Monica will be missed. Take care of yourself.
