Michael Scott “Bubba” Wilson, 56, of Morning View, KY, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at University of Cincinnati Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Bubba was a co-owner and the lead mechanic at Crescent Springs Hardware, his family owned and operated business of 50+ years. When he wasn’t in the shop, you could find him in one of two places; his garage or the woods. He loved to tinker on a nightly basis with his radio blasting and his friends by his side. Bubba had a passion for off-roading, as he was a long-time member of the Hy-Jumpers 4×4 and loved to race each year at Gravelrama in Cleves, Ohio.
In 1990, he started his first Bubba Fest with 100 of his “closest” friends. Now, 32 years later, with thousands of people, the tradition continues as his family carries on his legacy with Bubba Fest 2022. He also loved to travel and spend time outdoors. Bubba enjoyed riding his motorcycles and driving his road runner any chance he could – even with a broken leg and crutches! Anyone who met Bubba, knew how great of a person he was. No matter the situation, he would do anything for anyone. He has touched so many lives during his 56 years on Earth and truly was one of a kind.
Bubba was preceded in death by his father, Bill Wilson.
He leaves his mother, Rose Wilson; his beloved wife of 22 years, Robin Wilson (nee Johnson); his daughter Sharon (Bobby Forrester) Wilson; his step-son, Kody Johnson; his siblings, Ginny (John) Hall, Connie (Doug) Moss, Mark (Ann) Wilson, Pam (Tony) Hester, and Cathy (Roy) Croley.
Bubba also leaves behind the apple of his eye, his grandson, Cole Wilson, whom he adored.
Celebration of life visitations will be on Monday, September 5, 2022 from 9:00AM-11:30AM and 1:00PM-4:00PM at Linnemann Funeral Homes in Burlington, KY. “Bubba’s Last Ride” will take place at 4:30PM, for all motorcycles and vehicles to follow in procession, leaving from the funeral home going to Crescent Springs Hardware. Please feel free to honor Bub by wearing your Bubba Fest shirts. The family anticipates a large crowd, so if possible, please consolidate vehicles or share a ride with a friend.
Additional parking will be located at Florence Baptist Temple 1898 Florence Pike Burlington, KY 41042. Please be mindful of traffic and along the road behind the funeral home (Florence Pike).
A Celebration of Life will take place at Bubba Fest, October 6-8, 2022 located at Mild 2 Wild in Sparta, KY.

Deepest Sympathy to the Wilson family
To Rose, Mark, Pam at the store and to the rest i haven’t had the privilege to meet yet, our deepest condolences for the sudden loss of Bubba. Our families have done business now for 50 years and I always stopped over to say hi to Bubba and Mark in the garage whenever I stopped by. Bubba was a true friend, a giver, and always there to answer a question no matter how busy he was. Bubba and the entire family are true gems of the community and CSH won’t be the same, but they will persevere. A life will lived. Please take care of Rose! The Coburn family, Greg and Paula, Linda and Bob.
Rose and family
Bubba this, Bubba that was all I heard from son Bill when we were together. Bill would tell me about all the things he did with Bubba. Then when I first met Bubba, it was to ask him to be a pallbearer at Bill’s funeral. And of course he said yes. Carmie and I extend our deepest sympathies to the entire Wilson family. Bubba will be missed.

Sweet sweet by
I’ve known Bubba as long as I can remember, he’s always been a good friend of my dads. When I think of him I think of nothing but love & light. He truly brought so much happiness into peoples lives. He loved his daughter Sharon like no other, I always loved watching the relationship they had. A kind, pure soul was taken to soon but I know he’s giving heaven some hell. He will truly be missed. Sending prayers to the Wilson family. I have no doubt he’s with you all each & every day.
Until We Meet Again Dear Sweet Friend
From school girl crush, to a fondly remembered first date, to cherished and very much loved family friend. You were a very special part of my world for as long as I can remember. We will miss your smile, your extreme kindness, and your awesome Bubba Hugs. You were so willing to jump in and help people and always on the go. The community has lost a legend but your legacy and memory will remain because so many people love you and look up to you.
My sincerest condolences to Robin, Sharon, Cole, Rose, to all of your family and cherished friends, and prayers for strength as we all grieve so hard over losing you. We have a new guardian angel watching over us. Please give the other 2 legends, your dad and mine, big hugs for me. Until we meet again dear sweet friend. – Elaine

Bubba Wilson
Bubba and I have shared a big part of our lives together over the past47 years, part of it married & had children. But we have ALWAYS STAY BEST FRIENDS OVER THE YEARS AND NO ONE EVER CAME BETWEEN US. I’ve lost my best friend in life but we will come back to one another again when God sees fit. Till then Fly high bubba and R.I.P. my love …. Prayers for his family and for Robin, give EVERYONE THE STRENGTH TO GET THREW THIS HORRIBLE SITUATION… GOD BLESS YOU BUBBA.. WE LOVE YOU AND WILL MISS YOU DEARLY….
Childhood friend
Growing up together in Crescent Springs, hanging out with Bubba was always a new adventure. From the creek behind the house, to the gadgets from the hardware store, Bubba provided me with the best of memories. Helping count inventory at the store was special, giving me and Bubba free reign in the store (so we thought).
Bubba, thanks for teaching me to step outside my comfort level, how to use a chain saw and log splitter, free PBR from Mr. Wilson’s bar, but most of all, you were always loyal and friendly. RIP and God Bless.

The man, the myth, the legend
Words can’t even express how sad my heart. I wish more than anything I could be there to see you off Bub, but I know you would tell me to go on & drink in your honor and that’s what I’ll be doing. My favorite memories of you are from the cruise & bubbafest, so i’ll be drinking PBR’s for you all day monday from the beach! I’m forever grateful for the impact you’ve had on my life & the love you’ve shown me over the years. I love you Bub! My deepest sympathies to Robin & the family.
