What to say to people you do not know but share simular pain & loss with. From all I have read here, in the news paper & on tv, what joy Matthew must have been to you. Though you are broken & empty from his death I must say Thank You for his life. Through your love for him he has been able to leave this life a better place than he found it. Matthew did his job here & I know you would not give up your 16 years with him for anything. God blessed you with his life and He now has his Soul. May God give you the strength to know Matthew lives on through many you will never know.

Well, I was that one big dum dum who didn’t get the word of who was the one who passed away (All I got was a vague Instagram update… Ouch). Whilst I wasn’t someone who got to know you that well, you were very welcoming to me, someone who was friendly and fun to have in the classroom. I respected that very much, albeit never really got the chance to express my thanks mainly due to focus on my studies. Now that I’ve heard what happened, I pay my highest respects to your family. A very honorable f (on this very moment) has been pressed in respect. Goodbye, friend.

Thank you so much Matthew for being such an inspiration and role model to so many including myself. I loved when we played in the pool with riley and you always made sure i was included. thank you for being the big brother i wished i’d always had and was able to have when you treated me like a sister 🙂 i love you so much matt and i wish i could’ve seen you one more time to tell you how much you meant to me before you went to paradise, but i know i’ll be able to tell you that in person one day.

You were the most loving, compassionate, funniest person I have ever met. You made school fun and enjoyable, and I am so sad that you are gone. But, I know that you are up in heaven playing soccer.

The Scott Christian Memorial Soccer Foundation extends our warmest and deepest sympathies to your family in this trying time. I know that there isn’t anything I could say to take away the pain but you have been and will be in my thoughts and prayers. My memories of Matthew is a sweet young boy at St. Paul School. It is evident that he was growing into a wonderful young man who made a huge impact.
