Marylee Townsend
Marylee (Mary) Townsend, 69, unexpectedly passed away at her home on Monday, January 22, 2024. She was born on May 23, 1954, to the late David Ross and Mary Helen Townsend in Covington, KY.
Marylee was a 1972 graduate of Dixie Heights High School in Edgewood, KY. Afterwards she attended Nursing school at Northern KY University.
Marylee was the youngest of three and a loving aunt to several nieces and nephews. She spent her career as a nurse with most of her time being in TCU and ICU. She started her career in 1979 as an LPN and went back for her RN in 1983, working at Booth Hospital, then St. Luke and finally St. Elizabeth Hospital. She retired from that career in December of 2020 and recently began part time work at Remke Market in Florence, KY.
Preceding her in death are her parents, David Ross Townsend and Mary Helen Townsend.
She is survived by her two brothers, Mark (Alice) Townsend, Douglas (June) Townsend; nieces and nephews, Ben Townsend, Amy Schroder, Daniel Townsend, Christine Townsend, Adam Townsend, David Townsend; her dear friends Mark and Karen Spanyer; numerous great nieces, nephews, extended family and friends; and her beloved dog Marley.
A visitation will be held Friday, January 26, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Erlanger Baptist Church 116 Commonwealth Ave., Erlanger, KY 41018. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Marylee will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Marylee’s name to Erlanger Baptist Church.

A beautiful soul and wonderful Aunt
As a child I may have been a bit scared of Marylee from time to time (hehe) but I always admired how strong and independent of a woman she was. Love the memories I have of her from back then of all the family gatherings. My thoughts and prayers are with you all in Kentucky today.

Marylee touched my heart so very much these last 3 years. She would visit us every week. Myself and the rest of my team at the branch will miss her sweet smile. Most of all I will miss her hugs. Sending hugs and prayers to the entire family and friends of Ms. Marylee.
