Mary Jo Lehmann

Mary Jo Lehmann (nee Morwessel), of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022, at the age of 76. Beloved wife of the late David Lehmann; cherished daughter of the late John, Jr. and Joan Morwessel; devoted mother of David (Nadine) Dean, Jennifer (Matthew) Funk and Robert Lehmann; loving grandmother of Emma Rothweil, Annabelle Funk, Chloe Dean, Paisley Dean and Amanda Ford; dear sister of Alice Morwessel and Nancy Morwessel. 

Mary Jo was a graduate and Alumni of Saint Vincent Hospital School of Nursing and received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Maryville University. She had a kind and caring heart and worked as a Registered Nurse for 55 years. Mary Jo retired from Mercy Hospital after 30 years, serving families as a NICU Nurse Manager and later as Senior Human Resources Manager. She also worked as a part-time nurse at St. Joseph Catholic School in Cottleville, MO. Mary Jo supported and volunteered for Nurses for Newborns. She was an expert seamstress who sewed hundreds of masks for friends, family and the staff of a local nursing home at the start of the pandemic. Mary Jo also served as a Board Member of her HOA. She was a caring friend to everyone who crossed her path. Most of all, Mary Jo treasured the time with her family, especially her grandchildren who she adored. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

 Memorials may be made in Mary Jo’s name to Nurses for Newborns and St. Jude’s Research Hospital.
