Mary Alice Markey
Mary Alice Markey, 75, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at Florence Park Care Center in Florence, KY.
Mary was born on September 10, 1947, in Covington, KY. She grew up in Taylor Mill, KY and was an only child, the apple of her parents’ eye. Mary was a Holy Cross High School graduate and worked for Cincinnati Bell as a communications clerk in her younger years. Mary was shy and reserved but had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed entering contests, good country music, and could work the New York Times crossword puzzles with an ink pen! A devout Catholic, Mary’s faith never wavered. She loved the church, her parents and family wholeheartedly. For all who had the privilege of knowing and loving this wonderful lady, they will miss her beyond measure in the days to come.
Preceding Mary in death are her parents, Raymond A. and Audrey V. (Baldwin) Markey and numerous aunts and uncles. She leaves behind a handful of cousins, including Carol Jetter Luken of Villa Hills. Mary considered her caregivers and friends at Florence Park part of her extended family. Sister Helen Wilke at Holy Cross Church was a great friend who lovingly tended to Mary’s spiritual needs when her health was declining. Mary’s family is forever grateful for the kindness and compassion she was shown by them all.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Mother of God Cemetery 3125 Madison Ave, Latonia, KY 41015 at 12:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Mary’s name to Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church 3612 Church St., Covington, KY 41015.
