Obituary
Condolences

Marilyn Mae Waldenmaier (Busse), a beloved mother, wife and grandmother passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025, at the age of 93 in Alexandria, Kentucky. She was born on May 7, 1932, in St. Joseph, Michigan.

A woman of deep faith, Marilyn served in the church for many years. To her, church was more than a religious building; it was a sanctuary where she sought spiritual strength and guidance. Her dedication was a testament to her faith and her belief in the power of community.

Marilyn had a remarkable gift for creating beauty with her hands and investing her heart and soul into every detail. She was an accomplished quilter whose award- winning pieces reflected both technical skill and artistic vision. Her quilts were more than fabric; they were expressions of care and creativity that touched all who saw them. In addition to quilting, she found joy in beading intricate designs and baking
beautiful wedding cakes, each one crafted with precision and love.

Marilyn is survived by her children Kirk H. (Cynthia) Waldenmaier and Kathy (Kevin) Moynihan; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and her brother Howard Busse, of St. Joseph, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles F. Waldenmaier, and her parents Adolph and Anna Busse (Sempert).
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew her and inspiration to all. As we honor and remember Marilyn’s life, we celebrate the amazing woman she was – her creativity, her dedication, and her strong yet loving spirit. She will be missed, but her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

A private service for the family will be held in St. Joseph, Michigan this summer.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to: Christ Lutheran Church in Memory of Marilyn Waldenmaier.

Your mom was a beautiful lady inside and out. Our wedding cake was beautiful. We compare all cakes to “Waldenmaier ” cakes.

She was one of my moms

Kirk and Kathy,
So sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. She was one of my Christ Lutheran moms. Loved her dearly and will always cherish that she made my wedding cake and a grooms cake for John. Your mom and dad will always have a special place in our hearts. Love and hugs to you both.
