Obituary
Condolences

Margaret Woo Donnelly passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 28, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by love and leaves behind a legacy of innovation, mentorship, and dedication.

Born in Okinawa, Japan, Margaret immigrated to the United States with her family in 1969, settling in San Carlos, California. She was the beloved daughter of Takako and Jack Woo. Margaret graduated from Marquette University in 1985 and went on to build a remarkable career in marketing and business development.

A trailblazer in the tech industry, Margaret’s career spanned over 25 years across Silicon Valley and the Greater Boston area. Her work touched the SaaS, telecommunications, services, and computer hardware and software sectors. She held leadership roles at Firetide, ArrayComm, SkyTel, Commtouch, and Pyramid Technology. She co-founded the Personal Broadband Industry Association and served as an industry analyst and marketing advisor to a wide range of businesses.

As Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer of AlignMeeting, and previously as Principal and Vice President of Marketing & Business Development at JitterJam, Margaret brought vision and energy to every endeavor. She was also a dedicated advocate for women in technology, serving as Committee Chair for TechWomenStart, part of the TechWomen/TechGirls initiative of the New Hampshire High Tech Council.

Margaret met the love of her life, Tom, while working as a Product Marketing Manager at Pyramid Technology in San Jose, California. Together, they built a life filled with purpose and joy, eventually moving to New Hampshire in 2009 to be closer to their family. Their bond was deep and enduring, and they shared many passions. Along with travel, one of the most memorable passions being their love for rescuing dachshunds. Jasmine, Juliet, and Princess Buttercup were cherished companions.

Margaret was extraordinarily creative. She quilted, crocheted, painted, made jewelry, and crafted stunning birthday and Christmas cards, each one a true work of art. Receiving a “Margaret card” was always a special treat. Her creativity and skills also translated to the kitchen where she was a natural cook whipping up creative fare with whatever ingredients were available to her at any given time.

After Tom’s sudden passing, Margaret relocated to Redondo Beach, California, and later to Kentucky, where she spent her final years surrounded by the love and support of her devoted friends Minda and Heather.

She is survived by her brother Sydney Woo of Nevada, her stepson Marc Donnelly and his wife Karena of North Andover, MA, her stepdaughter Heather Donovan and her husband Jim of Meredith, NH, and her grandchildren: Shamus, Erin, Brendan, and Kyle. She leaves behind several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, as well as nieces and nephews.

Margaret will be remembered for her brilliance, warmth, and unwavering strength.

As per Margaret’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions to a cancer research organization of your choice are appreciated as a tribute to Margaret’s enduring strength and grace.

Margaret, your name will live long at The Makersmill

As a founding member and current user of the jewelry /metalsmithing shop at the Makersmill in Wolfeboro NH, I can say that a week rarely goes by when Margaret’s name is not on our lips. I never met Margaret but have been blessed by her generous gift of equipment, large and small, as well as supplies to the Makersmill. Because of her initial gift getting us off to a running start, we have one of the best equipped jewelry class rooms in the area. We can’t thank you enough, Margaret.

Margaret and her Beloved Tom

Happy Heavenly Birthday, Margaret! You are a beautiful soul and an inspiration. I am blessed to have known you for 48 years. You and Tom were both so special to me and my family. Thinking of you always!!!
