Lucille Smalley (nee: Terry)

Lucille Smalley, 92, of Independence, KY, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Boonespring Rehabilitation in Union, KY.

Lucille was known for her caring nature and generous spirit. She spent many years working as an assembly line technician for Crous-Hinds before transitioning to a fulfilling role as a nanny for a decade, where her nurturing personality shone brightly.

An avid lover of flowers and gardening, Lucille found joy in cultivating her garden and sharing its beauty with others. Her passion for cooking was matched by her delight in sharing meals with her neighbors, creating warm and memorable moments. In her leisure time, she enjoyed fishing, a hobby that allowed her to connect with nature.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Smalley; son, Donnie Wright; and sisters: Glenna Fay Feltner, Maxine Couch, Grace Honaker, Janice Ryan and Betty June Coon.

Lucille is survived by her loving children: Ronnie Wright (Blanche) and Keith Smalley (Etta); grandchildren: Brandon, Tina and Tosha; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Journie; sister, Wima Jean Spears; as well as many good friends who loved her dearly.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the time of funeral service, 11:00 AM, at Linnemann Funeral Home, 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY, 41005.  She will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Burlington Cemetery.
