Louis “Mark” Thomas

Louis “Mark” Thomas, 71, of California, KY, formerly of Villa Hills, KY, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY after a short illness. Mark was a dedicated and legendary employee of BAWAC, Inc. for 50+ years where he was truly loved and cherished. Mark was a devout parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church and an alumnus of Good Counsel School. He had a lifelong passion and spirited devotion to Elvis Presley, the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

Born January 29, 1953, during a hurricane in Sheringham, England, Mark cherished memories of traveling across the country with his parents, particularly enjoying their trips to Las Vegaswhere he loved the thrill of gambling. In his leisure time, Mark found joy in watching classic television programs “I Love Lucy,” “MASH,” “MacGyver” and old Western shows.

Mark had a unique way of endearment, affectionately referring to people as “bozos.” In response, many would lovingly reply, “At the end of the day, Mark, you’re the biggest bozo of them all!”

He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Shirley Thomas. Mark is survived by his sister, Shirley Ann Duve; numerous cousins; his second family at BAWAC; and his adult foster care family home provider, Cindi Minear.

A visitation for Mark will be held Monday, July 8, 2024, from 5 p.m. until the time of Mass ofChristian Burial at 6 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic 2470 Lorraine Ct. Crescent Springs, KY 41017. He will be laid to rest Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY.
