Lois Skidmore

Obituary
Condolences

Lois Skidmore, age 82, of Burlington, KY, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, May 17, 2025.

Lois was born to the late Louis and Ella LaWarre on February 2, 1943. She dedicated nearly 25 years as a teacher’s aide at Kelly Elementary.

A faithful member of Belleview Baptist Church, Lois gave generously of her time, especially through her volunteer work at the Food Pantry in Hebron. She found great joy in simple pleasures—spending time at the YMCA with friends, walking in the park with her beloved dog, Annie, and nurturing her flower garden. Her home was a haven for hummingbirds, and each holiday was made special with her signature butter cookies, lovingly baked and shared with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Skidmore; son, Eric Skidmore; and brother, Bill LaWarre.

Lois is survived by her children, Lee Ann (Andy) Wichmann and Jon (Debbie) Skidmore; and grandchildren: Jake Wichmann, Jessica Skidmore and Jillian Skidmore; as well as several nieces, nephews and other family and friends who she loved dearly.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the time of funeral service, 12:00 PM, at Belleview Baptist Church, 6658 5th St., Burlington, KY 41005. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Erlanger, KY.

Memorials are suggested to Voice of Martyrs, DONATE or to Belleview Baptist Church.
