In Loving Memory of Lois Elizabeth Behne
June 25,1950 – February 19, 2025
Lois Behne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished friend to many. She passed peacefully in the presence of family on February 19, 2025, at the age of 74. Lois dedicated herself to others, always putting their needs before her own. Her selflessness, compassion, and ability to make everyone feel valued were qualities that defined her and left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Lois was born on June 25, 1950, in Cincinnati, Ohio and her life was a testament to kindness, resilience, and unconditional love. As a child, Lois cherished the summers spent visiting Simpsonville, Kentucky, where she created lasting memories surrounded by the beauty of nature and the warmth of family. As a young adult, Lois attended the
University of Kentucky, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics. She went on to have a fulfilling career as a dietician for the Veterans Administration in Lexington, Kentucky, and at Marion General Hospital in Marion, Ohio, where she touched many lives with her expertise and dedication to promoting health and well-being.
Lois’s greatest accomplishment was being a devoted mother and grandmother, roles she cherished above all else. She was a constant source of support and wisdom, always ready with a listening ear and warm embrace. Her children and grandchildren will always remember her for her bedtime stories, baking sessions, family game nights, cheers from the stands at sporting events and competitions, and the special bond that they shared. Lois’s strong faith in God, infectious laugh, and her love of the beach will continue to inspire and guide us as we carry on her legacy.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Imhoff, and her mother, Lou Elva Imhoff. Lois is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Duane Behne; her children, Laura Behne and David Behne; her brothers, Mitchell Imhoff, David Imhoff, and Dan Imhoff; and her cherished grandchildren, Sophia and Andrew Behne. Her family was her greatest joy, and her love, kindness, and strength will live on in their hearts.
