Linda S. Hicks, 59, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, February 20, 2018

at St Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY.

The most important thing to Linda was her faith. She held tightly to God’s truths and promises throughout her whole life, and especially while she was fighting cancer. She loved her family, her precious grandchildren and many of her friends. She loved to watch her grandchildren and they loved being with her. She read stories to them, played games and took them on many adventures. Linda and her husband loved camping together with their “camping group.” She devoted time carefully choosing the perfect camp sites for their friends and loved finding places with lots of trees, swimming pools for the grandkids, and local restaurants or festivals nearby. She was a huge sports fan and hated movies, her family often joked that ESPN was all that she watched. She loved Kentucky basketball and the Cleveland Cavaliers. She loved helping people, trying new things or recipes, and going shopping with her daughters. She was humble, kind, joyful, creative and passionate for others. She always greeted people with a smile and a hug. She was generous with her time and money. She was strong, capable and ready to tackle anything that came her way. She fought the good fight, finished the race and is celebrating in Heaven.

Linda will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 39 years, and high school sweetheart, Ken Hicks; their daughters: Andrea (Guy) Domec and Jessica (Vince) Meiman; grandchildren: Braylen, Austin, Emma, Kaleb, Camden and Maxwell; her mother Judy Mitchell; her sisters: Mellissa Reynolds and Barb (Jeff) Grant; half-brother, Sean Reynolds; father and mother-in-law Floyd and Maxine Hicks; as well as many family members and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 23, 2018 from 4PM to 7:00PM at First Church of Christ in Burlington, KY with Funeral Service immediately to follow at 7:00 PM. Interment will be held at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens on Saturday, February 24, 2018.

,

Prayers

I am so sad to hear of Linda’s passing. I have fond memories of her and I know how much she will be missed by all of you. I am praying that you can feel Gods loving arms around you and that you take comfort in knowing that she is with her Heavenly Father where you will see her again. Sondra Burgess

With deepest sympathy

I am truly sorry for the loss and pain that you, Ken and the Hicks family and friends are feeling because of losing Ms. Linda recently in death. Most of us have had to endure the sorrow of losing a loved one in death. What helped me the most was prayer and faith in God’s promises like found here at 1 Corinthians 15: 26 and it tells us: “And the last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing.” Isaiah 33:24 guarantees us: “And no resident will say “I am sick,” ever again.
God’s kingdom that Jesus taught us to pray for at Matt. 6: 9, 10 will bring about these wonderful promises, including the resurrection. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow, but we are all guaranteed a resurrection. (John 5:28, John 6:40, John 11:23-25, Acts 24:15, Job 14:14-15)
For more comforting scriptures please visit: http://bit.ly/1K38EFt. It has given me hope, strengthened my faith and helped me find the answer to Why? I know it will do the same for you. John 17:3
I pray you will find comfort reading the above scriptures in your personal Bible.
If you had the opportunity to see your dead loved ones again, alive and in perfect health here on earth, would you take it?
Of course, we all would!
The Bible says we will!!
If so, please watch this short, faith strengthening video: “Can The Dead Really Live Again?”

You are in my prayers during this difficult time.
Also: We warmly welcome you to attend a Bible convention near you this summer.

Our hearts are filled with sadness for you all on the loss of such a beautiful soul. Linda’s grace and kindness touched us in such a memorable way when we became parents. She didn’t even know us then, but she showed up and loved on us, welcoming us into that new phase of our lives with laughter, advice and food. Her ministry to us made a difference and we will always remember her. You will all be in our thoughts and prayers.

With our deepest sympathy,
