Laverne Sterling
Laverne Pieper Sterling, 87, of Ft. Mitchell, died Sunday, November 4, 2012. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Barbara Church, and an active member of the Cursillo Movement. Her husband, Elmer Sterling, a decorated WWII Army veteran died previously. Survivors include: sons, Glenn (Shauna) Sterling of Villa Hills, and Fr. John Sterling of Erlanger; daughters, Kay Sterling (Caleb Faux) of Cincinnati, Michele (J.D.) Williams of Bellevue, Gemma (Jerry) Zembrodt of Owenton, Jan (Joe) Zembrodt of Ft. Mitchell, and Mary Pat (Dan) Lewis of Villa Hills; sister, Mary Lee Merten of Ft. Mitchell; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Visitation 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 7, at St. Barbara Church, Erlanger. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. A reception will follow the Mass in the Parish Hall. Burial St. Mary Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell. Memorials may be made to St. Barbara Church Building Fund, 4042 Turkeyfoot Road, Erlanger, KY 41018; or the Diocesan Catholic Children’s Home, 75 Orphanage Road, Fort Mitchell, KY 41017. Linnemann Family Funeral Home, Erlanger is serving the family.
