Condolences

Kenneth George O’Hara, 84, of Walton, KY, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2024, at the Veteran’s Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. Born in Erlanger, KY, Kenneth was the beloved son of William J. and Marie O’Hara. He served his country with honor as a U.S. Navy Veteran and later dedicated over 40 years of his life as a newspaper carrier for the KY Post.

Kenneth’s life was marked by his deep love for his family and his joy in celebrating with them. He cherished gatherings at his house and always the more the merrier. He will always be remembered for the O’Hara parties and his annual Memorial Day Picnic!  He was known for capturing videos of his family and friends which will be cherished for years to come.  He found so much joy in creating a yard (much like a park) for all the children to play!

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marie O’Hara, and six siblings: Dorothy, Bill, Gene, Jim, Sr. Esther, and Audrey, as well as his daughter, Christine Marie O’Hara. He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Joyce Tewes O’Hara, and their children: Randy O’Hara (Suzy), Lori O’Hara Hadley (Mark), Rick O’Hara, and Rusty O’Hara (Tyra). He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren:  Tanner, Mitchell (Jessica), Evan (Victoria), Brycen (Anna), Aarron, Christy, Katie, Braden, Cameron, and Luke.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at a visitation on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 4pm until 8pm at Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger, KY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024, at 6pm at St. Timothy Church in Union, KY, followed by a reception in the church hall from 7pm until 9pm.

Memorial contributions may be made to any veterans’ organization, honoring Kenneth’s commitment to his fellow veterans and his community.

Kenneth George O’Hara will be remembered fondly for his dedication, his kindness, and the love he shared with all who knew him. His legacy of service and family devotion will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.

Ken made a huge impact on my life.

Dear O’Hara Family, I just learned of Ken’s passing today, March 13, 2025. I am so sorry for Ken’s departure. I worked for Ken when I was a teenager in the late 80’s on the paper route, he was a great boss and a greater man. I learned a lot on the back of that paper truck but mostly in the cab on the rainy and cold days while listening to 700 WLW. Ken would tell me stories and jokes and sometimes let me use the soapy wash cloth he kept in the empty bread bag that Joyce had prepared for him after the route was done, it was fantastic! I remember those days very fondly and have huge respect for Ken. Another cute thing that I remember is that he would always personally walk a paper to his in-laws front door at the poultry farm….a kind and intentional gesture. I love that memory. I am blessed and I am a better man because of Kenneth O’Hara. God Bless the O’Hara Family. Columbus Rankin
