Kenneth Blue

Kenneth Paul Blue, 70, passed away Thursday, September 19th, 2013 at his residence in Burlington. Since 1956, Ken served as an organist at many churches in the Washington D.C., Greater Cincinnati, and the NYC Metropolitan area. He also was the former Dean of the American Guild of Organists. He also worked for the IRS in Cincinnati and New York City. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Elvira Blue, and his sister Jean Menzie. He is survived by his wife/soul mate, Ruth Simmons Blue of Burlington; his daughter, Amy (Jeff) Demitrus of Parma, OH; his step-daughter, Rebecca Gordon (Kyle Christensen) of Corpus Christi, TX; his brothers David (Barbara) Blue of Atlanta, GA, and Alan (Carrie) Blue of North Carolina. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Shannon and Marc Demitrus and his loyal dogs, Belle and Josey. A memorial service will take place at Florence United Methodist Church on Sunday, October 6th, 2013 at 2PM. A visitation and moments of memory will take place on Tuesday, October 8th, from 5:30PM-7:30PM at Florence United Methodist Church.
